Globaltechexport Ltd. is performing the design, manufacture, and supply of a Natural Gas Treatment Unit combined with a Gas Distribution Plant for the Chernogorsk TPP

Globaltechexport Ltd. has concluded a contract with Intertechelectro JSC for the design, manufacture, and supply of a Natural Gas Treatment Unit combined with a Gas Distribution Plant for the Chernogorsk TPP.

Chernogorsk TPP (24 Jichai 4000GF70-T gas reciprocating units with a capacity of 3.8 MW, electric power – 92 MW) is designed to provide reliable power supply to production facilities of the mining and processing complex based on the Chernogorsk copper-nickel ore deposit. The implementation of this project will be the first stage in the creation of the second-largest producer of palladium and platinum in Russia. The reserves of the Chernogorsk deposit are estimated at 131 million tons of ore containing palladium, platinum, rhodium, and gold. The designed production capacity of the first stage is 7 million tons of ore per year. The final product is copper and nickel concentrate with a high content of palladium, and platinum.

The Chernogorsk deposit is located in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, about 15 kilometers away from the city of Norilsk, which implies the hard-to-reach and severe conditions of the Far North with a long winter period and temperatures up to minus 56 °С. The Natural Gas Treatment Unit and Gas Distribution Plant, designed and supplied by Globaltechexport Ltd. fully comply with the highest requirements set for the Chernogorsk deposit equipment, including innovative, environmental, and climatic ones.

The equipment designed and supplied by Globaltechexport Ltd. will also have the advantage of its full operational readiness, compact layout containerized modules, and the highest possible degree of localization, close to 100 percent – according to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 719, all core equipment (excluding the actuated shut-off valves, which are being purchased in a friendly country to accelerate the supply process with a duration of only 9 months) will be manufactured in Russia at the production facilities of Globaltechexport Ltd. and the facilities of our partners, proven over the years.

Such quotients became possible thanks to the meticulous work on import substitution, which was started by our company more than 5 years ago.

This approach once again proved its undoubted relevance since the put into operation of the Chernogorsk TPP was scheduled for 2024, but subsequently postponed to 2025 precisely due to the impossibility of equipment exportation from the unfriendly countries.

Natural Gas Treatment Unit and Gas Distribution Plant purpose – supply of gas with required parameters to the gas consumption equipment.

Scope and main specifications of the supplied equipment:

Technological equipment consisting of:

  • Natural Gas Treatment Unit and Gas Distribution Plant block modules with full operational readiness complete with all necessary technological and engineering systems, including electric heating, ventilation, lighting, internal power supply, earthing, gas hazard monitoring, security alarm, fire alarm, lifting mechanisms, service platforms with stairs;

  • Gas Distribution Plant, including pressure stabilization unit and pressure reduction unit for standby hot water boilers and the prospective consumers of the metallurgical treatment;

  • Gas condensate tank, including thermal insulation, electric heating, service platforms with stairs.

Cabinet-type equipment consisting of:

  • Input and distribution panel for 0.4 kV power supply load of the Natural Gas Treatment Unit and Gas Distribution Plant;

  • 0.4 kV electrical consumer power supply cabinet;

  • Local distribution panel for the containers;

  • 0.4 kV gas facilities FFP;

  • Control cabinets of the Gas Distribution Plant technological processes and life support systems, security and fire alarm system cabinets, located in the separate control compartment.

Common Natural Gas Treatment Unit and Gas Distribution Plant systems consisting of:

  • A modular building with sandwich construction complete with landing platforms, platforms for disassembly of equipment, entrance stairs, fences for platforms and stairs, canopies over entrance doors and gates;

  • ACS based on REGUL R500 controller (139 signals, 5 control circuits, 6 operation modes);

  • Lifting mechanisms for assembly/disassembly and transportation of equipment units;

  • Power supply system for BOP needs with 400/230 V voltage supply;

  • Fire protection system, complete with automatic fire suppression system and fire-alarm system with emergency voice alarm communication system;

  • Facility intrusion detection system;

  • System for loud-speaking warning;

  • Gas hazard monitoring system;

  • Ventilation system, Natural Gas Treatment Unit building premises heating system;

  • Conditioning system;

  • Electric lighting system;

  • Earthing system.

  • Gas filtering degree on treatment unit filters with an efficiency of 99.99% – no more than 5 microns;

  • Permissible mass concentration of mechanical impurities after treatment unit filters – no more than 5 mg/Nm3;

  • Liquid particles filtering degree on treatment unit filters with an efficiency of 99.5% – liquid particles are captured completely (99.9%), suspensions larger than 5 microns are captured with an efficiency of 99.5%;

  • Permissible mass concentration of liquid particles after treatment unit filters – liquid particles are not allowed.
